THE STORY
On the eastern bank of the Red Deer River lies the sprawling Horsethief Canyon. A century ago, this land was part of an illegal livestock trade network. Outlaws smuggled stolen horses between the United States and Alberta, hiding the animals between the steep canyon slopes.
